South Dakota Department of Transportation Invites Public to Elk Point Meeting for Interstate 29 Improvements
ELK POINT, S.D. (Sept. 14, 2026) – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) is committed to enhancing travel infrastructure across the state. An important redevelopment project is underway targeting Interstate 29 at exit 15 and Main Street in Elk Point, South Dakota. Residents, business owners, and commuters are encouraged to attend a public meeting open house to discuss this proposed project on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026.
The meeting, located at Elk Point City Hall at 106 W. Pleasant St., will begin with an informal open house. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., with a presentation to follow shortly after 5:30 p.m. During this gathering, participants will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with the knowledgeable design staff from SDDOT.
