Sioux Falls, S.D.—The anticipation is building as Creighton University and the University of South Dakota prepare to face off in a thrilling women’s basketball matchup scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at the renowned Sanford Pentagon. “This is a tremendous non-conference matchup early in the 2026-27 season,” stated Jesse Smith, vice president of Sanford Sports. “Both the Bluejays and Coyotes have passionate fanbases close to the Sanford Pentagon, and we’re looking forward to providing another excellent atmosphere for the players, coaches, and fans.” Smith’s sentiment echoes the vibrant community spirit deeply rooted in South Dakota’s sports culture.

With Creighton having made four of the past five NCAA Tournaments, their presence at the Pentagon is eagerly awaited. Their previous encounter at this venue resulted in a commanding 75-52 victory over North Dakota State on November 6, 2023. “The Pentagon is a tremendous venue and this game represents an opportunity to challenge our team with strong competition,” remarked Jim Flanery, Creighton’s head coach. “Both myself and the team are looking forward to our game with the Coyotes.”

The University of South Dakota, on the other hand, is riding high on their most successful season in years. With 26 victories and a remarkable run to the Fab Four of the WNIT, the Coyotes are poised for another strong showing. This game marks their 12th appearance at the Heritage Court inside the Pentagon, where they currently hold a record of 6-5.

“We are incredibly thankful for our continued partnership with Sanford and the opportunity to once again compete at the Pentagon,” said Carrie Eighmey, South Dakota head coach. “There is no better stage for our matchup with Creighton. The Pentagon is by far one of the best basketball venues in the country. Sioux Falls is home to many of our alumni and fans, and we expect the Coyote faithful to show up and make it a true home-court advantage for us.”

Sioux Falls, known for its rich tapestry of cultural and recreational activities, offers visitors and residents alike a seamless blend of history and modernity. The Sanford Pentagon, a key feature of the 500-acre Sanford Sports Complex, serves as a testament to the region’s commitment to fostering athletic excellence. With facilities that are second to none, the complex has changed the way athletes play for 25 years and continues to be a beacon for sports in the Midwest.

The collaboration between Creighton and South Dakota is a celebration of sportsmanship and regional pride. This makes November’s matchup even more tantalizing as the first neutral site encounter could tilt the scales in either team’s favor.
