The 2024-25 season saw the Coyotes finishing with a commendable 19–14 record and placing fifth in the Summit League with a 9–7 conference performance. The team demonstrated resilience in their advancement to the Summit League semifinals, overcoming North Dakota State before narrowly losing to a formidable Omaha squad. Aiming to surpass last year’s achievements, South Dakota has been proactive during the offseason, securing impactful recruits and focusing on strengthening their roster.
A pivotal figure this season is junior guard Isaac Bruns, a talented player hailed for his court intelligence and on-field agility. As a member of the Preseason All-Summit League First Team, Bruns’ performance is expected to be a crucial component of South Dakota’s game strategy. In addition to Bruns, the team will be bolstered by newcomers like junior guard Jordan Crawford from Eastern Kentucky and freshman guard Jesse McIntosh from Melbourne, Australia, both bringing unique skills to the team.
